The Significance of October 14, 2008 as the Foretold time of a Mass Sighting

Much is circulating around the internet as this is written regarding a mass sighting planned to occur over a three day time period beginning October 14 of this year. This information is being “received” by several people claiming to “channel” members of the Galactic Federation which is allegedly made up of several off-planet representatives similar to our science fiction shows like Star Trek.

It is not my place to judge the validity of this channeled information – we’ll soon see for ourselves whether or not the predictions come true. What intrigues me about this is that the ships are described to be of “living light” which is what I witnessed in Phoenix in 1997. I’ve said that the orbs seemed to be organic looking and some have speculated that they are of plasma origin. What is also interesting to me is that the date that has been given coincides with the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. There are some connections of this holiday to material I’ve presented in my book that I would like to discuss in preparation for what this event might signify if it does indeed take place.

There are three major pilgrimage holidays in Judaism They are Passover, Shavuot and Sukkot. In an earlier Blog post I noted that the Phoenix Lights sighting that occurred on April 21, 2008 took place during Passover. Passover is celebrated as the release of bondage as slaves to the Egyptians. Shavuot marks when the Jews received the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai. The time period between Passover and Shavuot is called the Omar and on the 33rd day of the counting is a holiday called Lag B’Omer. I wrote about Lag B’Omer as an odd holiday as it is the only day during the counting that one can get a haircut, get married and perform other cyclical rituals that would normally take place. Lag is the number 33 and is made up by a lamed which has a Gematria value of 30 and a gimel which has a value of three. Esoterically, the number 33 relates to mastership as 30 means “to teach” and three signifies the learning of humility as the gimel symbolizes a rich man chasing poor man – rich meaning rich with judgment. The book discusses the number 33 in relationship to Phoenix being located on the 33rd parallel and having been founded by Masons whom are noted for their 33rd degree masters.

Sukkot occurs on the 15th day of the seventh month of Tishri. It follows the high holy days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. These holidays mark the Jewish New Year and the Day of Atonement which is a fasting day meant to seeks God’s forgiveness and be sealed in the Book of Life. It is Judgment Day. Sukkot is an original Egyptian word which means “the place of entering into the darkness”. It is mentioned in the bible as where the Sons of Israel went to retrieve the bones of Joseph from his tomb at Auaris (the place of the Hebrews) before leaving Egypt. The word Sukkot is the plural from of word Sukkah which means Booth. Sukkot is known as the Feast of Booths or the Feast of Tabernacles.

Tabernacle denotes the portable dwelling places used in the Exodus from Egypt to the arrival in Canaan. These have been translated from the Hebrew word Mishkan (meaning residence or dwelling place) to tent. Thus the Tent of Meeting also comes from this origin. The Esoteric meaning however has been lost in that it symbolizes the dwelling place of the spirit or the Shekinah found in the darkness. The priests in their wisdom sought to teach of this esoteric meaning through the exercise of outward ritual. Thus the Hebrews were “commanded” to build a Sukkah outside and to live in these makeshift residences for the duration of the seven day (eight if out of Israel) holiday.

The roof of the Sukkah is built with only natural or organic “tree” materials such as palm leaves and bamboo mats. The roof is detached from the ground and should allow the light of the stars to shine through and rain to get in. Rain was considered the abundance of God’s favors to help crops grow and thus the agricultural significance of the holiday. From a spiritual perspective we could view this experience as representing our own construction of the Tree of Life with the associated abundance found in uniting the spiritual with the material.

This Tree of Life subtext is found in an odd ritual I never understood until I became acquainted with Kabbalah. Each day of the festival Jews are to grasp four species of plants and wave them in the four directions as well as up and down. Three of the species of plants, the Lulav (date palm frond), Hadass (bough of a myrtle tree) and Aravah (willow branch) are tied together in a manner that looks like the Hebrew letter Shin which I’ve written about extensively in the book as representing the three pillars of the Tree of Life itself. The eastern or right pillar represents mercy, the western or left pillar represents severity and middle pillar represents harmonization of the polarizing forces. Thus the fourth plant species is called an Etrog which is the fruit of the citron tree. This to me represents the “fruit” of the Tree of Life.

The citron is a very unusual fruit. It is not a lemon as some people think. It self-pollinates for one thing which reflects the unity of the male and female found in the Tree of Life. It never falls off its tree which is another unique attribute which denotes its strong tie and unification with its source. In ancient times the citron was used medicinally and as an effective antidote to poison when mixed with wine. Its peel is made into saccade or candied form with the word succade even seen as derived from the word Sukkah. Thus the sweetness of the Tree of Life made manifest which also represents the fruits of the Promised Land.

The seventh day of the Sukkot is known as Hoshana Rabbah which means the Great Supplication. Hoshana Rabbah is known as the day of the final sealing of judgment, which began on Rosh Hashanah. During the festival of Sukkot the world is judged for water. The seventh day of the festival is the final sealing and since human life depends on water, Hoshana Rabbah is somewhat similar to Yom Kippur. Hence there are additional prayers and requests for repentance as on Yom Kippur.

We could take this notion of water and extend it to represent the shift of the Astrological Ages of Pisces to Aquarius which is also discussed in great detail in the book. Pisces is symbolically represented by the two fish swimming in opposite directions which represent the duality and polarity of the Piscean Age which we are currently transitioning from. The symbol for Aquarius is Man pouring the Waters into a stream which represents the manifestation of the Adam Kadmon primordial template of Man/Spirit pouring out a new consciousness/awareness of the unity of (the two waves of the Aquarian glyph) mankind. Thus the rational for why Sukkot closes with the prayers to bring the speedy coming of the Messiah.

My book takes the position that the Messiah of this Aquarian Age is found in the mirror. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for and can use the spiritual technology of Kabbalah to integrate the polarities of our being to bring forth the manifestation of this higher awareness that I speak of. Until I researched Sukkot in relationship to the proposed sighting, I had no idea of the power held within the esoteric meaning of this holiday. For those who want to believe that aliens are coming to “save” us, I am sorry to disappoint. If anything, visitors would want to remind us of our origins and our destination as higher spiritual beings in my opinion. This was the case with the Phoenix Lights and this should be the case with future “visitations.” We are supposed to reclaim our power – not give it away to saviors. This I am sure of.
